Why can’t I use an exterior concrete mix for my interior slab concrete polish?
For an interior mechanical polish, it is especially important to make sure that all the aggregate (stones) within the mix can be polished up and take on a shine. The problem with trying to use an exterior mix indoors is that the stones in an exterior concrete mix are different than the stones in an interior mix. If you try to use a mix with stones that are meant for an exterior setting, sometimes they simply will not polish and you may end up with a ‘leopard look’ when light shines across your floor. Exterior concrete mixes are specifically designed for outdoor use, so when you are looking at options for an indoor space, it is much better to use a mix that is intended for an indoor setting. Using an interior mix indoors will also help you avoid the uneven leopard spot appearance.
