How long do I have to wait before I can walk on my polished concrete floor?

Mechanically polished concrete (Hiperfloor) can be walked on immediately after it is completed. However, no water should be applied to the floor for 3 days, so be sure that you keep the floor totally dry for the first 72 hours.

The exterior matching finish (Honed) can also be walked on immediately after it is completed.

Meanwhile, a Hybrid finish can be walked on the very next day.

A standard grind and seal or an epoxy coating needs between 7 to 10 days to fully cure, especially in Melbourne’s colder months. We recommend no foot traffic for at least 24 hours, socks only at 48 hours, and no vehicular traffic or moving of furniture for up to 7 days. This includes an epoxy flake floor and Feather Floor. We absolutely do not recommend walking on the floor before at least 24 hours, and at 48 hours, be sure that you do not walk on the floor in shoes. Waiting the appropriate time will help protect your new floor from damage.
